Front Desk - Optometry in Augusta, Maine
Description
Augusta - Our client, a busy Optometry practice, is seeking to fill a full-time, temp to hire Front Desk opening for their office! Monday through Friday, rotating Saturday's. The right candidate will possess a friendly demeanor and a genuine interest in helping their customers! Great opportunity! Duties will entail, but are not limited to:

• Greeting and receiving patients
• Answering phones, answering inquires or referring questions to appropriate staff
members
• Scheduling appointments
• Responsible for maintaining efficient patient flow
• Inputting charges and payments accurately
• Keeping reception area and patient bathroom neat and orderly
• Inventorying supplies and notifying buyer when low
• Contacting insurance companies to inquire about patient eligibility and coverage
• Retrieving authorizations for Vision Plans patients online
• Attending conferences to develop business skills
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations

Description
Do you have a medical background with some office/clerical skills? Are you looking to move away from direct care into a more administrative position? This may be the job for you!

Two shifts available; Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 6:30/7:00 pm, 35 - 45 hours/week; Monday through Friday, 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Contract to Hire! Duties will vary and include:

Answer phones and meet & greet patients
Scheduling
Electronic medical records
Electronic insurance billing
Other clerical tasks as assigned
Medical knowledge is needed, will train in billing procedures. Friendly and professional personality a must!
