Orono, ME - Bangor Area Staffing is seeking a Community Development Manager to lead community development lending efforts and grow the portfolio for our client, a community development financial institution (CDFI) and community development corporation (CDC). This is a full-time, Direct Hire position.
The work will include:
Conducting outreach to tribal authorities and other potential borrowers to market and promote our client's community development loan products;
Conduct research on potential sources of capital (including Low Income Housing Tax Credits, New Markets Tax Credits, and the Federal Home Loan Bank’s Affordable Housing Program);
Developing partnerships with lending partners (for participation loans);
Developing a pipeline of potential community development borrowers;
Conduct initial screening/underwriting of community development loans;
Monitor community development loan portfolio; and
Assist in related program development, implementation, and reporting.
Bachelors Degree in business, finance, economic, or related field
Three to five years of experience working in the community development field
Understanding of community development financing
Experience with community engagement activities
Willingness to travel, both in-state and nationally
Strong administrative skills and self-motivated with the ability to set priorities and manage multiple tasks under minimal supervision in an effective and efficient manner.
Ability to work under pressure and respond to deadlines without sacrificing quality.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills required.
Proven ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within strict time frames as well as simultaneously managing several projects, facilitating and participating in group meetings required.
Demonstrated interest in community development
Experience working with Native American tribes is preferred.
