Unity, ME - Bangor Area Staffing is seeking an experienced Sous Chef for our client. Great opportunity to become part of a great institution. The Sous Chef will manage all aspects of kitchen operation while preparing ingredients and meals according to recipes. Assist in planning menus, ensuring safe, efficient, healthy, and sustainable food preparation and serving.
In this leadership role, you will supervise kitchen production, organization, sanitation, and safety. Maintain production records and daily delegation sheets, staff and student schedules, production sheets, cleaning lists, kitchen charts, and submits all forms and reports required weekly. Assist in producing schedules and leads daily line meetings.
High school diploma required and either five (5) or more years of experience in food service, including supervisory responsibilities, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Associate’s degree and/or culinary training preferred
Proven supervisory experience
Good computer skills
Cash management/reporting and inventory control accountability.
Ability to work with and follow established budgets.
Serve–safe Certification; or must be obtained within six months of hire
Must be able to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, be able to stoop, bend and reach.
This is a full-time, Contract to Hire position. Rotating schedule will include daytime, evening, night, and weekend shifts, and extended hours required as needed.
